I trained in the UK at Teeside school of arts foundation fine art then Newcastle university of Northumbria for my BA Hons degree in visual and performing arts and eventually back to Teeside for a MA in multimedia design.
I am a multi media artist/maker have worked as creator of large scale macketts for street performance a mural artist and as a photographer and undertaken work as set designer and builder of installations for festivals and theatre performances. as a multi media artist I have been involved with many cross media collaborations, have developed shadow puppet shows carnival prosession builds, worked as artist on playschemes and in schools running animation workshops, have been involved with arts collectives and acted as advisor and designer for other peoples projects.
I began exploring and trying to express myself and the world as I experience it, I trained in fine art but as a reaction to working solely with computer generated images and graphics for a while I started to work more outside and with 3d and sculpture, I have allways produced work related to environment and nature.
.
I began making sculpture to leave in public areas so people would come across them without knowing who did them, left on a
track or in a wood or on a hillside, inpermanent sculptures that would soon be
blown away or fall apart. This has evolved into using beach as the main material still taking into account the siting of the artwork as part of the Sculpture I started building artworks for and during festivals seeing this arena as a new artspace and a place where all people can see and interact with the artwork and the maker.
most recent works have been producing kinetic inteactive sculptures that make sounds and recording these to then mix into soundscapes.
Other areas of interest to me are playing music, film, animation, puppets and genraly design in all its forms from objects to architechture.
